Chordwerk Privacy Policy
Data protection for the iOS app “Chordwerk” and chordwerk.com (GDPR)
1. Controller
The controller responsible for data processing in the Chordwerk app is:
Daniel Kiefer
Lucent Dreams
Neue Str. 20
72820 Sonnenbühl
Germany
E-Mail: ceo@lucentdreams.eu
2. Principle: Processing on Your Device
Chordwerk analyzes music exclusively on your device. Your songs, recordings and analysis results never leave your iPhone and are not transmitted to us or any third party.
Chordwerk contains no advertising, no tracking and no analytics tools (in particular neither AdMob nor Firebase). There is no user account.
3. Microphone and Recordings
The microphone is only used while you start a recording yourself. Recordings are stored locally in the app's storage and analyzed there. You can delete recordings at any time in the app's library.
You can revoke microphone access at any time in the iOS settings.
4. Imported Audio Files
Audio files you import via the Files app are copied into the app's storage and processed only there. Removing a song deletes the copy.
5. Music Analysis by iOS
Key, tempo and song structure are detected on-device by an Apple framework. On first use, iOS may download an analysis model from Apple once. No content of your songs is transmitted; the download itself is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.
6. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions
Chordwerk offers optional purchases (“Chordwerk Pro”). Purchase, payment, renewal and cancellation are handled exclusively by Apple (App Store). Whether Pro is unlocked is checked directly on your device using the purchase receipts signed by Apple. We do not receive any personal data and have no access to payment or financial data.
For details on Apple’s processing, see the Apple Privacy Policy.
7. Retention
All songs, recordings, analyses and settings are stored only on your device and are removed completely when you delete the app.
8. Data Sharing
Chordwerk does not transmit any personal data to us or to third parties. We do not transfer data to countries outside the EU/EEA.
9. Website chordwerk.com
The website chordwerk.com is hosted by One.com (Copenhagen, Denmark) and served over HTTPS (TLS). When you visit it, the hosting provider automatically collects information your browser transmits in server log files: IP address, date and time of access, requested file, amount of data transferred, browser type and version, operating system and referrer URL. This data is used to provide the website securely and reliably and is deleted after 7 days at the latest, unless further processing is required for evidentiary purposes.
The website uses no cookies, no analytics tools and no tracking. Fonts and images are loaded from our own server. The only exception is the explainer video (see below), and only after you click.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in providing the website securely and reliably).
Explainer video (YouTube): The website embeds a video from YouTube (provider: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). When you open the page, only a preview image is loaded from our own server; no connection to YouTube is made without your click. Only when you click “Play” are your IP address, the page visited and technical details about your browser, among other things, transmitted to Google, and YouTube may store cookies or similar technologies on your device. A transfer to the USA cannot be ruled out; Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. The legal basis is your consent given by clicking (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Section 25(1) TDDDG). More information: Google Privacy Policy.
If you contact us by e-mail, your details (e-mail address, content of your message) are used only to handle your request and are not passed on without your consent.
10. Your Rights as a Data Subject
Under the GDPR you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access (Art. 15 GDPR)
- Rectification (Art. 16 GDPR)
- Erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
- Restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- Data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
- Objection (Art. 21 GDPR)
To exercise your rights, please contact us by e-mail: ceo@lucentdreams.eu.

Lautenschlagerstraße 20
70173 Stuttgart, Germany
www.baden-wuerttemberg.datenschutz.de
